Our Story

Paul King brings over 40 years of plumbing experience to your door. Paul started as an apprentice in 1984 with Australian National Railways (formally South Australian Railways) & has worked in many facets of large scale commercial / industrial plumbing & right down to small cottage work. During his time with the railways he worked in many country areas of South Australia as well as metropolitan Adelaide.

Before starting his own business Paul worked with a local Hills plumber for 7 years. Paul, his wife Alison & family have lived in Nairne for over 30 years now & have played an active part in their community. They are proud sponsors of local sporting clubs: Nairne Bremer United Football Club, Nairne Cricket Club, and several other clubs and events. Over the years, Paul King Plumbing has been a consistent contributor to the Nairne Oval Complex, Nairne Lions, and the Mt Barker CWA, providing some services at cost or for free. Alex and Nick are also very involved in helping the community, both being in the local CFS brigade, with Alex moving on to the Mt Barker MFS in recent years.

Paul King Plumbing is proud to have serviced thousands of clients in the residential / domestic market. We are a family business and we place a high value on family time so we do not offer a 24/7 day a week service. However, if you leave a message we will call back at our earliest opportunity.

The Paul King Plumbing team is growing. These days we have Paul at the helm, with his tradesman son Alex working in a management position alongside him, Alex has now been a qualified tradesman for 10 years, completing his apprenticeship in 2015.
We also have our senior tradesman Nick who completed his apprenticeship with us in 2020, and tradesman Guy, who completed his apprenticeship with us in early 2025. Plus our apprentice, Noah who began his apprenticeship with us in Feb 2024. We have employed him on a full-time basis, and he attends TAFE at Tonsley for trade school, as well as his day-to-day supervised training on the job.

In 2024 our daughter Brodie also joined the pkp team, in an office admin position. Brodie handles all the behind-the-scenes admin, as well as managing the phone system. Paul’s wife Ali is still an active member of the team, offering back-up office support, running errands, and providing general support to the team as needed.

Together our team has over 60 years plumbing experience, and if you take into account our family history, even longer. Paul's Dad, (Alex Senior) was also a plumber, working on just about every major building project in the Adelaide CBD, including the initial build of the Festival Centre, the Hyatt / Adelaide Railway Station redevelopment, BP House, to name just a few. This makes Alex Junior a 3rd generation plumber.
